Yeah,I'm Still Among The Living!

Well good grief! It has been a long time since I have written a new post. There are no words to describe how pathetic I am.I don't even know where to begin.I guess I will start with the vacation that Scott and I took.We went on a cruise for our 5th anniversary. We were on the same ship that we took on our honeymoon.Ah,how romantic! We had a really great time.We went to Grand Turk,Half Moon Cay and Nassau.Half moon Cay was definately our favorite. It is a very small island. There are only about 35 people that actually live there.I would love to be 36!I really can't describe how beautiful it is.The ocean was like a pool.It was that clear! And the sand felt like powder.I could have stayed there foreverer.Actually there is a bar on the island and the name of it is I Could Stay Here Forever. We were kind of nervous about dinner that first night because when you are on a cruise, you are assigned a table with the same people for every night of the cruise. We were worried that we would get paired up with some weird freaks that would make things,well.....weird.Well,we were worried about nothing. We met the nicest couple from Wisconsin. We totally hit it off with them.So that made the week that much better. We have kept in contact with them through email and we would like to get together sometime.Oh and they are Christians!Good times! So in addition to Scott taking me on a cruise ,he also got me a new ring!He had my diamond from my engagement ring put in a new setting. The diamond had fallen out of the original setting.Well,he gave it to me a couple of days before we left for the cruise. He wanted to give it to me on vacation but he was worried about getting through security at the airport.Well, unfortunatly the jewelry store didn't size it right so it wouldn't go on my finger.I deceided to take it with me on the trip anyway just so I could look at it.Well the first night as I was getting ready to go to dinner, I was putting my jewelry on and I deceided to try my ring on again. And for some reason it went on.It was a little snug but it was on my hand!So we went to dinner and then to a show and then we came back to our room for the night.I started taking my jewelry off,but when I got to the ring it would not budge. It was really stuck. So I went in the bathroom and coated my hand in soap thinking that would help it slide off.No such luck.It was STUCK!I tried and tried and tried some more to get it off but it was no use.Scott even tried.Well,by this point my finger was turning purple and was really starting to throb.I was really upset. We really didn't know what to do next so we called the nurse. She said to put my hand in a bucket of ice.Well,I did that for a while but I swear it made my finger even more swollen. So we called the nurse again and she said to try to elevate my hand.Well,by this time it was like 2 in the morning and we were so tired. So,we went to bed and I tried to elevate my hand which is hard to do when you are sleeping.I don't think I slept at all and my finger was even more swollen.I woke Scott up and kind of freaked out.I couldn't feel my finger at all now.I knew that this was not a good sign.So we went down to the lobby desk and told them that we needed someone to cut the ring off. So,they sent a maintance guy to our room and he cut it off.I was so relieved to have it off my finger but I was also really upset about my now damaged ring.I didn't know if it could be fixed or not.Well, when we got home Scott made a visit to the jewelers and explained what happened. They felt so bad that I had to go through that because they didn't size it in the first place that they fixed it for free!I can laugh about it now.So anyway.A couple of weeks after we got back,me,Maggie and Scott's mom went to Lousiana for a visit to Scott's granny which is his mom's mom. Here name is Maggie and while we were down there she turned 90.So we had a big birthday party for her.It was a nice trip.I felt really bad that Scott was not able to go with us but he just couldn't get anymore time off work.We missed Maggie so much when we were on our cruise and then two weeks later Scott had to be away from her for another week.Good grief this post is long and I am not even done yet.A few days after Scott and I got back from vacation we found out that we are going to have another baby!!We were so not planning this but we are excited none the less.I am about 2 months along and morning sickness is in full swing. This too shall pass.So Maggie will be getting a brother or sister for her third birthday.Yes,I am due on her birthday. But,I will be having a scheduled c-section and they usually do those a couple weeks before your due date.So that will work out just fine because on June 7th Scott's brother is getting married and Maggie is the flower girl. Her birthday is the next day.Needless to say it will be a busy couple of weeks.Okay,I think it is time to bring this thing to a close.Maybe next time I won't wait a month and a half between posts!

More Of The Magster

Just For Megan

Do Cat's Go To Heaven?

Well, yesterday was a sad day. When I got to work,Dr.C told me that Hashbrown's foot was very infected and he had had several seizures the day before.I then had to make a decision on what I wanted to do next.Being that he was an older cat and he was going to be an outside cat out at my mom and dad's I deceided that the best thing to do was to put him down.It would just be to hard to give a cat medicine twice a day to control seizures when half the time you can't find a cat that lives outside. And,I think it would have been nearly impossible to find him an indoor home with someone else with that kind of baggage.I would have taken him myself but my cat Vivian pretty much loathes other cats. So,that is that.I am just glad that I found him or who knows what would have happened to him. With his horrible infection and seizures,he would not have stood much of a chance fending for himself. At least this way he was just able to go to sleep peacefully while I held him.I hope my next post is happier.

Kitty Cats and Hashbrowns

So this past Saturday morning,I took Scott to work so that Maggie and I could have the car for the day.Of coarse, she spotted the Golden Arches. It is after all right next to Daddy's work.So she tells me that she wants a hashbrown. It is amazing and/or sad that she knows what she can get at McDonalds according to what time of day it is.So anyway,I pull into the drive thru, order breakfast, drive to the first window, pay.drive to the second window, get breakfast and then proceed to be on our way.In case you were wondering, this is where it gets a little interesting.Standing in the drive thru lane is a big yellow cat.And he would not move. So,if you know me,you can maybe guess what I did next.Yep that's right.I parked the car and got out.The cat then came to me like we were long lost friends.(Reunited And It Feels So Good)Yeah,I'm singing this.So of coarse I do the next logical thing and pick him(yes I checked) up.His little motor was runnin'!So then this kid that works at McDonalds asks me"Do you know this cat?".And I so wanted to say,"Why no,I don't believe we have ever met!How do you do?".And shake the cats paw.But instead I just said no.He then tells me that the cat has been hanging around the parking lot for the past three days.So I tell him that I work at an animal hospital and that I would be willing to take care of him.So then we get in the car.Now I am wondering how he is going to respond once we are moving.Because if you know anything about cats you know that they just don't usually appreciate riddin' in a car so much. But do you know what he did?He got right on my lap and layed on his back!He rode this way until we were almost to the clinic where I work.He then deceided that my hashbrown looked and smelled pretty tasty.Who knows the last time he ate!So he then moved over to the passenger seat and sat there so nicly while I fed him the other half of my hashbrown.Well then we got to the clinic and I got him a cage all fixed up with a litter box, food, water and of coarse a fluffy blanket for a bed.He was in heaven! He ate the entire bowl of food in about five minutes!I think he was hungry. So,I gave him a refill on the food a hug and I was on my way. So,he had a pretty good weekend from a cat's point of view.Today at work I had one of the vet's exam him and give him his vaccines because he was going to go live at my mom and dad's house.Well during the exam we discovered that his right front paw is injured. How sad! So,tomorrow he will go off to kitty dream land with a light sedative so that they can figure out what is going on.I will keep you posted as I know that you will be on the very edge of your seet with anticipation. And if I can figure out how,I will put a picture of him on here.So there you go!Oh and by the way. Since he is the color of hashbrowns,he likes to eat hashbrowns and he was rescued while I was getting hashbrowns, his name is Hashbrown Halterman.

Okay!So I am not a good blogger!

Well good grief! It is a little bit ridiculous that I have not put anything on here since the original post, which was almost a month ago.A lot of times I will think of something to post, but then I will think"No one wants to read about that!".But I have deceided after reading a lot of other blogs to not stress about it.After all,I think only one person even reads it!(Love Ya Darlene)But then I was reading my comments, and some old friends(Love Ya Kris and Megan)have discovered me.So,since I feel like I have a bit of a following now,I had better get it in gear.

Here we are!

Well,I have deceided to join the world of blogging since I love reading everyone else's blog's so much.I guess I will update you on what has been going on in our lives.Last week I went back to work part time.As many of you may know,I worked at an animal hospital for seven years before we had Maggie.Well, about a month ago I was at the hospital and they asked me if I would want to come back to work a couple days a week.I jumped on that!I loved working there before and I really thought it would be great to get out of the house occasionaly. The only reservations that I had were what I would do with Maggie on the day's I was working.I was really dead set against her going to a day care,so I just prayed that I would be able to find somewhere for her to go where I knew she would be loved and well taken care of.God is so good.A really good friend of mine is going to keep Maggie for us while I am working. It just worked out so well!I thank God for the wonderfull people that he has placed in my life.A good girlfriend is priceless!Well tommorrow,Scott and I get to get all dressed up and go to a wedding. It will be like a date for us.I have to tell you that I just love weddings!!!It doesn't matter if I know the couple that well or not,I love weddings. You get to dress up,everyone is happy and you usually get a free meal!Oh,I almost forgot. You get to dance!!!If you know me at all,you know I love to cut a rug!Even though Scott won't dance,it has never stopped me!Okay well I am signing off to my first post!Love ya'll!
